The Joint Action Committee (JAC) Against Illegal eviction of Langol Foothills in collaboration with other frontal organisations in the State has decided to boycott the Prime Minister�s visit to the State if the eviction notices served to 46 families of Langol Tharon village are not withdrawn within 24 hours with effect from 7 am of November 17.A decision to this effect was taken among other resolutions during a joint meeting of the frontal organisations convened by the JAC at Tharon village today.
The meeting attended by UCM president Sapam Jadumani, Ex-MLA and JAC advisor Jangamlung Panmei, ZUCAM-V president Meibon Phaomei, ex-Commissioner, IMC Ng Ibochou, Langol Foothills Villages Women�s Organisation advisor Mrs Pantipuila, Tharon village Authority secretary Huthongnang Gangmei and JAC president Thambalngou Gonmei among others strongly condemned the eviction drive being carried out at Langol foothills.
The meeting strongly endorsed that the proposed Capitol project should not in anyway or manner affect the continued existence of Tharon village, which was set up by a formal decree of the Kings of Manipur.
The meeting further resolved that the frontal organisations under the initiative of the JAC would be taking up any form of agitation to safeguard the rights of the affected villages.
