Imphal, February 05, 2009:
WITH A five-point agreement reached between some gas agency owners of the state and the underground PREPAK, the outfit has lifted the ban it imposed earlier on the ground of higher price and untimely distribution of cooking gas by some gas agencies, according to Assistant Commander, Task Force and Recovery Team of the party, Roshan.
Speaking to media persons somewhere in Imphal East district, Assistant Commander Roshan said that even if the ban has been lifted from some gas agencies, the ban will still be in force on those gas agency owners who refuse to have a talk with the outfit.
He said that Kimjoe Gas, and Selneng Gas in Churachandpur, Chandel Gas, Tadubi Gas and Senapati Gas agencies will be covered still under the purview of the ban.
The points of agreement reached between the gas agency owners and the outfit include that the gas agency owners should make known to the public the monthly agents' quotas of the agency owners and to bring out the total number of consumers to the public notice; to ensure that the gas is not sold in black market on the pretext of home delivery service and to entrust their own agents for home delivery service; to appeal all consumers within their jurisdiction to collect their consumer cards; to provide gas to card holders at an accurate rate and to ensure that the agency owners delivered gas at an exact rate and provide the agent with the charge they deserve in case of home delivery service; and lastly, the agency owners agreed to abide by the agreement and in case of failure to stick to the agreement it will be the individual responsibility of the owners.
Roshan also appealed all concerned organizations to help materialize the agreements so as to guarantee uninterrupted cooking gas supply in the state.
