Nongmeikapam Kotiswar Singh of uripok Tourangbam Leikai has been appointed as the Advocate General of Manipur.
An official notification to this effect was issued yesterday.
The 45 year old Kotiswar s/o (late) Justice N Ibotombi Singh and Gomati Devi began his schooling from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia (West Bengal), completed Pre-University Course (Science) in St Anthony's College, Shillong before graduating in Political Science from Kirori mal College under Delhi University in 1983.

Having studied law at Campus Law Centre (DU) and obtaining LL.B degree in 1986, Kotiswar apart from practising Law since then was also selected for the Commonwealth Young Lawyers Course in 1992 at University of London.
The father of two among others also had a brief stint (1986-88) in the Supreme Court of India and has been practising in the Gauhati High Court in Constitutional law, Criminal, Civil and the lower courts and other tribunals.
