Imphal, November 04:
Amidst the ongoing Thoubal district bandh, a protest sitting was staged today at Thoubal Achouba demanding unconditional and immediate release of Ningthoujam Yaiskul of Thoubal Achouba and Leimapokpam Dilipkumar of Thoubal Ningombam.
Yaiskul and Dilipkumar were arrested by Thoubal police commandos in the morning of October 28 on the charge being activists of an UG group.
Meanwhile, the JAC Against the Arrest of Innocent N Yaiskul and L Dilipkumar has resolved to extend the ongoing Thoubal district bandh till Nov 6.The JAC warned that in case Yaiskul and Dilipkumar are not released by Nov 6, various modes of agitation will be launched from the next day.
During the protest sitting staged under Thoubal Apunba Meira Paibi and the JAC, the protesters held placards which read as, "We condemn detention of Government employee under NSA without plausible reason", "Release Yaiskul and Dilipkumar without any condition", "Publish detail reports of Yaiskul and Dilipkumar being activists of UG group" etc.
The JAC convenor AK Memcha while refuting the police allegation that Yaiskul is a PREPAK activist, clarified that he is the Headmaster of Charangpat Nepra Company Junior High School.
Dilipkumar is also an innocent civilian who lives by doing van service.
Memcha contended that Dilipkumar was picked up from his home and not from Ningombam Laxmi Bazar as claimed by the police.
She strongly condemned application of NSA against the two innocent persons which has also cost the job of Yaiskul.
Quoting media reports, she reminded of the clarification made by the prosribed PREPAK which denied any relation between the outfit and the duo.
For any untoward incident in the course of the proposed agitation, the State Govt should bear the entire responsibility, asserted the JAC convenor.
