Imphal, November 04:
Once the 'clean-up exercise' being undertaken by KCP(MC) in Social Welfare Dept is completed and the crimes committed by corrupt officials are unmasked, people should take a firm stand to punish the guilty officials in a fitting manner, exhorted the proscribed KCP (MC).
A statement issued by KCP (MC)'s secretary of Military Affairs Lanheiba Meitei also took strong exception to the open protest made by some individuals against firing and bomb attacks in civilians areas.
Such protest movements only served to present the outfit's 'clean-up exercise' in the wrong light.
Asserting that such actions seemed to be condoning the corrupt officials and standing for a particular group, Lanheiba warned all those involved in the attempt to malign the image of the outfit to clarify their action to the public.
Failure to make appropriate clarifications will entail punishment for working at the behest of others, Lanheiba warned.
Stating that its 'clean up exercise' is based on "Three People's Principles" and under the banner "To Seek the Truth From Facts", KCP (MC) asked all concerned Ministers/MLAs to rectify their 'pocket lists' of candidates and to appoint competent and deserving candidates in the four ICDS Projects and 3138 Anganwadi centres with due consideration on line of promotion and experience.
Failure to rectify their 'pocket lists' of candidates for appointment is tantamount to defying the KCP (MC)'s principle for protection of human rights and establishment of an egalitarian society.
As such, all those involved in corruption, nepotism and favouritism will be punished for which the DPOs/CDPOs should bear responsibility, asserted Lanjeiba.
