JCILPS rallies

As part of the ongoing protest against failure of the State Government in implementing a strict law to check influx of outsiders and foreigners in the State, a mass rally was carried out by a large number of people at Bishnupur.
Spearheaded by the members of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) along with Apunba Nupi Lup, Bishnupur, All Manipur Students' Union and Manipuri Students' Federation both of Bishnupur branch spearheaded the protest rally, hundreds of people including student communities took part in the rally which started from the Yangoiningthou Yangoileima Shanglen community hall at Bishnupur bazar.
Protesters marched till the DC office complex before heading to Bishnupur police station.
The rally witnessed a short confrontation with police personnel before it concluded in Yangoiningthou Yangoileima Shanglen community hall.
Students from Oinam Comprehensive School, Oinam Girls' High School, Brighter Academy, Modern English School, Bishnupur Higher Secondary School and Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School took part in the protest rally.
Convener in-charge of JCILPS Khomdram Ratan stated that the failure of the State Government have led to high influx of non-locals in the State.
The previously passed Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers' Bill 2015 is not acceptable as it emphasised more on saving the non-locals.
The Bill must be reframed during the ongoing Assembly session.
He further stated that mass protest will be carried out in different districts of the State unless a strict law is passed by the State Assembly.
