Miss Kut donates

Miss Kut 2011 title winner, Lungmuankim Sitlhou has donated a generator set worth Rs 40,000 to Compassion Children Home, Damdei.
Luangmuankim formally handed over the generator set in a simple function held at the premises of the home this evening.
She is the first girl from Sadar Hills who has been crowned the winner of the prestigious contest that started in 1979 .
Speaking at the function, Luangmuankim said, she decided to donate the generator set considering the inconveniences being faced by the children of the home in their studies in the absence of adequate power supply.
It may be mentioned that the cash prize of the State level Miss Kut title was Rs one lakh.
Speaking at the occasion, Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Sadar, Hills president Henkhokai Singsit said, Luangmuankim has already donated Rs 4000 to Kangpokpi Church, Rs 20,000 to Taloulong village for Church construction, Rs 4000 to Manipur University Tribal Students Union (MUTSU).

People of Sadar Hills feel proud of Luangmuankim's generosity and philanthropic activities, he added.
Compassion Children Home secretary Rev V Sitlhou said that the home was set up with an aim to provide shelter to destitute children of ethnic violence in 1992-93 .
He added that the home is being run with donations from friends without any help or support from the Government.
Although the home is located just a half kilometre away from NH-2, it still does receive required electric supply, said Rev Sitlhou adding that home inmates have to use kerosene and solar lamps for reading at night.
