Imphal, September 12 2014 :
United Committee Manipur (UCM) has warned that the unwanted police action has the potential of jeopardising the situation which in turn would pose a hurdle to take the issue of ILPS to the negotiating table.
Speaking to reporters at its Lamphelpat office today, UCM President Yumnam Nabachandra said that the State Government is maintaining silence although police keep on arresting JCILPS members one after the other.
He alleged that this silence indicates Government's dishonesty on their proposal of holding a dialogue with JCILPS on ILPS issue.
Questioning whether the Government does not want implementation of ILPS in the State, Nabachandra said that suppression of ILPS movement would turn out to be a great loss to the people of the State including those who are in the Government.
Saying that UCM wants to see a positive conclusion, Nabachandra expressed serious concern over jeopardising the situation.
Nabachandra added that the Government's move to declare holidays of all educational institutions in a bid to suppress the ongoing movement is not a right decision at all.
