The Dimapur Meetei Union in a letter to the governor of Manipur has asked for financial assistance for the construction of Manipur Rest House at MSRTC complex, Dimapur, Nagaland.
The Union has highlighted the fact that thousands of people from Manipur including students, patients, sportspersons and many others are bound to Dimapur, as it is the nearest railway station.
The Union has also stressed that hundreds of Imphal bound passengers coming form different parts of the country are stranded at Dimapur on many occasions, regular landslides and blockades owing to scores of organizations calling bandh of the Highways.
Informing that the Dimapur Meetei Union has initiated construction of a Manipur Rest House at the MSRTC complex to render services to the needy stranded passengers, the construction of the Rest House, which began with the contributions made by the people has stopped at the window level or the ground floor because of lack of fund.
In the letter to the governor, the Union has requested for maximum help in cash or kind to complete the construction.
The delegation comprising Ibotombi Khuman, president IPSA, Saikhom Sanayaima, Auditor, DMU, K Seityajit among others met the governor today.
