A combined team of Narcotics and Border Affairs (NAB) and 4th Assam Rifles personnel under the supervision of Superintendent NAB RK Radhesana Devi (IPS) seized 1980 Kgs of ganja from Numka Village at Saikul today.
Sources said that a combined team of NAB and 4th Assam Rifles led by Inspector S Raghumani and Major Subhas Sharma were despatched to Numka Village on receiving specific information that some contra- band items were being hidden in a house at the village.
On reaching the village at around 1 pm, the combined team surrounded the house of one Kimsei Touthang and searched the house.
During the search, 66 boxes containing ganja were recovered from the house, added the source.
The ganja is estimated to be about Rs 3 .96 crs in the international market.
Meanwhile, sleuths of NAB arrested a woman from Moirangkhom Sougaijam Leirak Machin and seized 31 gms of heroin.
