Mao Gate, June 02 2015 :
The ongoing Dziiko-Koziiri boundary dispute between Mao Council and SAPO is getting aggravated with each passing day as both the sides have decided to carry on their own course of actions even as the State Governments of Manipur and Nagaland are yet to react effectively on the issue, reports our correspondent.
A day after SAPO launched its total blockade against Mao community on May 31, Committee for Koziiri-Dziiko Land Boundary Resolution (CKDLBR) imposed an indefinite economic blockade on NH-2 .
According to sources, CKDLBR's economic blockade has been enforced by its supporters at Mao Gate.
However, no truck was stranded at the border town till the time of filing this report.
Many empty trucks managed to cross the inter-State border town in the night of May 31 .
Information collected from truck drivers said that many Manipur-bound trucks are stranded at Nagaland-Assam border.
As both the sides have refused to change their stance, the State is likely to face shortage of fuel and other essential commodities in the coming days if the economic blockade continues for some more days.
On the other hard, unconfirmed reports said that the State Government is likely to deploy State forces in and around the border town to thwart unwanted incident during the blockade.
Sources said that SAPO volunteers are fully enforcing their blockade against Mao community at Jakhama.
It may be noted that CKDLBR is clamping the economic blockade demanding State Government's intervention into the alleged encroachment at Dziiko and Koziiri areas by Southern Angami People's Organisation (SAPO) .
CKDLBR also demanded the State Government to deploy State security forces at disputed areas and take immediate steps to stop road construction by SAPO volunteers at Dziiko and Koziiri areas.
