Different organisations have condemned the Aimol Satu village incident wherein chairperson of Aimol Numeis' Waar M Ruisoting Aimol (55) was killed in Assam Rifles firing on May 31 .
In a statement, Ching-Tam Nupi Apunba Lup (CHINALUP) strongly condemned AR troops for indiscriminately firing on civilians.
The women's body also urged them not to repeat such action in future.
Condoling Ruisoting's death, CHINALUP also shared the grief of the bereaved family.
On the other hand, United People's Front (UPF), Manipur questioned whether Assam Rifles troops are deployed in the State to maintain law and order or kill people.
UPF threatened to launch an intense agitation in collaboration with other civil society bodies if action is not taken against the involved AR team at the earliest.
The statement further said that political parties must raise their voice against the incident instead of maintaining silence.
UPF also shared the grief of the bereaved family.
It also said that UPF would extend support to any form of people's stir regarding the incident.
Committee of Civil Societies, Kangleipak (CCSK) while condemning the incident demanded repeal of AFSPA from the State.
Committee on Human Rights (COHR), Manipur has also strongly condemned the killing of Ruisoting alias Mary.
