Abduction of Azimuddin protested

In what could be termed as a case of abduction a 43 year old man was whisked away in a van by an armed gang.
Talking to reporters the person, Mohammad Azimuddin said that he was confined in a home and armstwisted to sign in a blank paper.
Later the persons set him free.
The identities of the persons are not known, said Azimuddin during a press conference held at the office of Muslim Council Manipur, Hatta Minuthong on Tuesday.
Azimudin was blind folded when he was taken away to a house in a four wheeler.
Azimudin is serving as the president of Muslim Council Manipur.
He was also a candidate at Zilla Parishad election for Andro Assembly constituency.
Azimuddin is a resident of Mantripukhri Marshiland Pangal Leikai.
The incident happened at 7 pm of May 31. Azimudin was picked up from near Thakurbari Mandir Mantripukhri by 4 unidentified men.
He was asked by the men to have a talk inside a four wheeler but later the men turn out to be armed.
He contends that he has no enmity with anybody and he does not know as to why the armed gang picked him up and asked for a signature in blank paper.
He also informed that he was not allowed to speak and was beaten up when he asked the armed persons the reason for the abduction.
He appealed to clarify as to who abducted him and why.
Haji Arafat Ali general Secretary of Muslim Council Manipur said that those persons should clarify through his personal number 9856133807 within 3 days time failing which a case will be filed at Heingang Police station for attempting on the life of Azimuddin.
