Locals endeavour to save Hr Sec School

Locals of Sagoltongba have stepped up efforts to save Recent Hr Sec School, Sagoltongba from being downgraded.
JAC against the downgrading of Recent Hr Sec School, was today unanimously formed by locals of Sagoltongba after a consultative meeting was held with teachers, local clubs, founder members and other educationists at the school premises.
The JAC agreed to work with the teachers of the school to check the drop in enrolment and at the same time bring quality education.
It may be mentioned here that the Recent Hr Sec School has 53 staff that included 47 teachers and 6 non- teaching staff with just two regular students, one each in Class XII Science and Arts.
Member of the newly formed JAC, I Gandhajit informed the media at a press meet held at the school that the teachers have agreed upon to provide free admission fees, uniforms, textbooks from their ends and also a hostel facility.
Highlighting various facilities to accommodate more number of students in a bid to save the school from being downgraded, the JAC agreed to provide free internet facilities, library, coaching and various incentives and meritorious awards to orphan students.
As a grant from the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) the school authorities have been receiving Rs 40,000 per year.
