Tree plantation drives conducted

Imphal, June 17 2021:
Battalion under the aegis of IGAR(South) organised a tree plantation drive in Imphal East and Chandel district in Manipur today to promote the 'Go Green Initiative'.
The tree plantation drive was conducted with an aim to control the global warming, making environment pollution free and spread awareness on importance of clean environment, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
As part of initiative, saplings were planted by the troops of Assam Rifles.
During the event, the troops were educated about the importance of trees in maintaining the ecological equilibrium, added the statement.
In another instance, 69 Battalion CRPF also organised a tree plantation drive today as a part of its continuing effort to make the earth green and clean.
The tree plantation drive was spearheaded by Bajrang Lai, Commandant 69 Battalion CRPF and officers and PU Trainees planted about 100 saplings in and around the campus.
Bajrang Lai highlighted the importance of organizing such drives and urged all men to contribute to such noble cause of making the world a better place and to make a habit of planting trees in continuous manner in all necessary places.
