Imphal, November 16 2014 :
Taking serious note of the Committee of Higher Secondary Students' Union's decision to boycott the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival in case the Inner Line Permit System is not enforced in the State by November 19, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is also the chairman of the All Political Parties' Forum on ILP has appealed to the committee to revoke their decision.
Sangai festival is not only a State level festival but it is now an international event, claimed Gaikhangam while appealing to all sections of the society for their cooperation in making the festival a grand success.
Speaking to some media persons this afternoon before leaving for Delhi, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that the All Political Parties' Forum has been drafting a report with a strong sense of urgency.
Once the draft is finalized, a proposal would be submitted to the Government.
"Let us wait at least until the proposal is submitted to the Government," Gaikhangam appealed.
He also sought cooperation of all sections of the society towards the All Political Parties' Forum and their efforts.
