Two representatives of the All Manipur Students' Union left for New Delhi today to participate in the upcoming North East Students' (NESO) meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the removal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from the North East region.
Talking to media-persons at the AMSU HQs today, AMSU gen secy Chourajit informed that former AMSU gen secy Jotin Salam and A Rakesh left for New Delhi today.
He also strongly condemned the brutal assault on Manipur University students by State security forces in front of the Raj Bhavan gate yesterday.
Meanwhile, a black flag was also raised at the AMSU HQs by its president Umesh today as a mark of protest against the prolonged imposition of AFSPA in the State.
