Imphal, December 22 2014:
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is also in charge of Home Department has assured that verification process for candidates selected to the posts of 315 ASIs would be completed soon.
Responding to a call attention motion initiated by MLA Th Shyamkumar about denial of offer forms to the selected ASI candidates, Gaikhangam conceded that there was some delay in holding DPC for selection of the ASIs.
The delay was largely due to minute examination of the documents submitted by the candidates.
Many candidates submitted certificates issued by educational institutions based outside the State.
All those certificates were verified and checked whether they were genuine or
counterfeit.
The authority undertook a lengthy verification process so as to avoid any lapses or complaints.
The verification process is nearing completion and it would be completed very soon.
After that, medical test would be conducted so that the new recruits can join the training course scheduled to commence from January next year, Gaikhangam informed the House.
Raising the call attention motion, MLA Shyamkumar urged the Government to complete the recruitment process as fast as possible and let the new recruits assist in maintenance of law and order.
