Ukhrul, March 14 2015 :
Naga People's Front NPF is gearing up for ADC election as the sitting ADC members would complete their tenure next month.
Article 371 (C) of the Hill Area Committee, which provided a special provision and power to the tribal communities of Manipur would be the focal point of the party's campaign.
During a political awareness campaign held at Town Hall, Phungreitang, Ukhrul district today, NPF State president Awangbow said, "Under the Autonomous District Council ADC, local self governance can function smoothly with proper devolution of power even though 6th Schedule is under due process.
Unlike other National parties, NPF was formed based on tribal rights and constitution.
It is the high time to support NPF and form ADC at every district of the State" .
Awangbow appealed to the people of Ukhrul to give NPF a chance in rescuing the tribals of Manipur from majority political domination.
NPF also condemned the 11 March bomb blast incident in Khwairamband Keithel and blamed the State Government for the chaotic situation in the State.
Replying to the UNC's decision to boycott the ADC election, Awangbow said that NPF would contest the election based on the Party's principles and its visions.
MLA Samuel Risom made a scathing attack by stating that Ibobi led Government is the weakest Government.
He alleged that the State Government lacks political, financial and social justice.
The NPF Ukhrul Unit president Wungnaoshang in his statement said, "Beware, BJP is an anti-Christian party.
After BJP came to power in the Centre, many intorelable activities have been meted out to the Christians.
It has been reported that many leaders are now seeking NPF tickets to contest in the upcoming ADC election.
Many NPF party workers, headmen, women leaders and people of Ukhrul attended the political awareness campaign.
One minute silence was also observed to pay respect to the departed soul of March 13 incident, in which 13 persons were killed in a bus accident at Phek.
