Medical team sent to Jessami

A medical team along with ambulance vehicles of Directorate of Health Services have been sent to Jessami village to provide treatment to the injured persons of yesterday's tragic accident that killed 13 persons and left many others injured.
Health Services Dr Okram Ibomcha said that four ambulance vehicles and four doctors including an Orthopaedic and a Medicine specialist left Imphal for Jessami today.
He said that the team would also visit the patients at Phek hospital tomorrow after providing treatment to injured patients at Jessami today.
It may be mentioned that 13 persons including six women died while many others were injured when a mini bus carrying more than 25 villagers of Jessami village, who were returning home after attending a marriage party, fell into a gorge at a place between New and Old Phek in Nagaland yesterday.
Some injured persons are undergoing treatment at Phek hospital while the remaining at a health centre in Jessami.
Dr Ibomcha said that critically injured persons would be evacuated to Imphal.
