Pushing forward the work for establishment of a medical college at JN Hospital, Chief Minister O Ibobi visited the hospital today and directly inspected preparatory works taken up there.
The Chief Minister personally looked after the works taken up to shift away the offices of Regional Health and Family Welfare Training Centre, Urban Family Welfare Centre and District Family Welfare to the PWD complex at Porompat.
Presently, these offices are located to the western side of JN Hospital.
During the visit, the Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing construction of the new OPD block and the existing conditions of both the new and old operation theatres as well as the gynaecology ward.
He instructed the work agencies to complete all the works related to relocating the existing offices and other preparatory works within November 15 .
Saying that he would visit the site every three/four days to check work progress, Ibobi further instructed the concerned officials/work agencies to complete all the works due to be completed by the time of each visit.
Talking to media persons after the inspection tour, the Chief Minister asserted that establishment of a medical college would be in the interest of the State.
For smooth execution, the project has been entrusted to TP Cell, PDA and PWD.
Confiding that there is no money for the project, Ibobi, nonetheless, assured that the State Government would find the required money by one means or another as the Government thinks the medical college is crucial for the State.
