KEEPING HOPE alive through "a common Journey of Hope" among Nagas thousands of Tangkhuls today gathered at Ukhrul, the home town of NSCN General Secretary Th.Muivah to pray for healing of spirit through reconciliation among the Naga political groups.
To strengthen not only the hope of unity among the Naga tribes through unity of the Naga political groups in particular and harmonious existence with all the neighbouring communities but also to reach out each other through healing hands the Naga Reconciliation Meet (Tangkhul sector) was organized by Tangkhul Committee on Peace and Confidence Building (TCPB).
It was a follow up of the series of Naga Reconciliation Meets initiated by the Naga Reconciliation Forum (NRF) at the back drops of factional killings among the Naga political groups (factions).
Ukhrul have had its fair share of rallies and meetings in the matter of Naga political movements and peace process with the Govt of India but nothing evokes more emotion then the Sunday's Naga Reconciliation meet when the public break down and cry for all the past misdeeds to look for a room of reconciliation for peace.
The Tangkhuls desire for peace and unity through reconciliation was empirically expressed with the two main speakers of the program Grace Thumra Shatsang, President Naga Women's Union Manipur (NWUM) and Rev.Dr.Mingthing, Director Tangkhul Theological Association (TTA) highlighted the needs for self introspection irrespective of all walks of life to save the Naga nation from the impending doom of factional clashes.
As a pledged to work for healing of spirit through reconciliation of all the Naga tribes in particular and the neighbouring communities in general Rev E.Shaiza, General Secretary of Tangkhul Naga Baptist Convention (TNBC) administered the oath to the public whereby.
According to the declaration of the meet, every Tangkhuls, man and woman will work for the healing of spirits through forgiveness.
The Sunday's Naga Reconciliation Meet was attended by the headman's of every Tangkhul villages along with pastors, youth leaders, women leaders and students' leaders apart from others.
The President of Tangkhul Wungnao Long ( Tangkhul Headmans Association) Kaphungkan Shimray through invoking the creator in Naga custom of yodeling appeals for " the in road of goods and exit of bad things" from the Nagas from today onward.
Among the thousands who attended the meeting today at Tangkhul Naga Long Ground, Muivah's fellow villagers from Somdal marked a strong presence.
To reverberate the Tangkhuls cry for healing of spirits through reconciliation among the warring Naga political groups hundreds of balloons with a banner "Healing of Our Spirit" was let off in the sky.
