In the backdrop of factional feud among the Naga brethren that has claimed hundreds of Nagas' lives, a public meeting of the Tangkhul section under the theme, "A common journey to hope" took place here at TNL ground today.
The reconciliation programme organised under the aegis of Tangkhul Committee on Peace and Reconciliation Building (TCPCB) was attended by thousands of people representing different walks of life.

Having hoisted the flag the Tangkhul Naga Long president, Qr Stephen Ankang in his introductory speech said "the Nagas have safeguarded the historical and political rights for decades notwithstanding forces from within and without that has badly divided the Nagas", adding "such division has compelled us to resort with armed confrontation leading towards hate and anger, pain and hurt, wounds and scars, and other unforgettable grim memories" .
Recalling the objectives of forming of Naga Reconciliation Forum (FNR) on February 24, 2008, the TNL president said this recently formed body has been effective in furthering its objectives because of warm cooperation received from many individuals and organisations, and categorically acknowledged organisations like Gaonburas (GB), Dubashis, Churches, civil societies and tribal hohos.
Naga Women's Union president Grace Thumra, TTA director Rev Dr YL Mingthing also spoke on the occasion inspiring the hearts of the crowd towards ensuring peace and reconciliation among the Nagas.
Amongt others, AS Pamshang, Director,Church of Christ, Shimthee R Shimray Pamleiphy Horam, Pastor,Namrei B/C, Rev Ephrim Shaiza, Rev Fr Somi Robert Parish Priest, Sacred Heart and Somipam Lungleng attended the reconciliation meet organized by TCPCB.
