KSO-SH opposes NSUCDC decision over sports varsity

Kangpokpi, March 01 2016: Vehemently decrying the decision of National Sports University Construction Demand Committee to construct the Sports University at Senjam Chirang Koutruk Khunou, Kuki Students' Organization, Sadar Hills has opposed the decision tooth and nail today.

Thangminlen Kipgen, President, KSO Sadar Hills at the outset made it clear that the proposed site for construction of Sports University allegedly at Senjam Chirang Koutruk Khonou belong to L Tangnaum, earlier known as Haraothel village.

He continued that L Tangnaum village is indisputably under Saitu-Gamphazol sub division in Sadar Hills and regularly pays hill house tax at Saitu-Gamphazol block.

He also said that "we had earlier opposed the land offered by Koutruk, Senjam Khunou & Senjam Chirang Development Organization to the State Government for construction of Sports University" .

While strongly opposing the decision of NSUCDC, Thangminlen Kipgen said that as the NSUCDC is committed to oppose the construction of the Sports University at 44-Yaithabi Loukon "we are also committed in our opposition to construct the proposed varsity at L Tangnaum village.

"Why the land owner or Sadar Hills civil bodies was not invited in the joint meeting of 29 civil bodies regarding the matter", asked the KSO Sadar Hills leader and added that the State Government must not accept the decision of the 29 civil bodies in the joint meeting.

He also said that no civil organization, except civil bodies of Sadar Hills, have the right to offer the land of L Tangnaum which some allegedly claim as the land of Koutruk for construction of Sports University.

He further said that every proposal for the construction of Sports University at L Tangnaum land is intentionally made to encroach upon the land of Sadar Hills and the people of Sadar Hills will never tolerate such intention.
