All the shops of Paona bazar and Thangal bazar will remain shut indefinitely from tomorrow in protest against the State Cabinet's decision to prohibit parking of vehicles at these areas.
Speaking at a press conference held at Dharamsala, Committee on Bazar Business Community of Paona Bazar and Thangal Bazar member Roshan Maisnam said that the committee had urged the Government to review its decision in a memorandum submitted on February 27 .
Although, the memorandum also demanded that a solution be brought by March 1, the Government has not given any response till date, he said.
As such, the committee has decided to shut all the shops at these two areas indefinitely till the Government reviews its decision, Roshan said.
He further said that there would be no restriction in traffic movement during the stir, he said.
Roshan said that prohibition on parking of vehicles has given a huge impact to the business of the shops located at these areas.
Saying that goods sale and business contributes a lot to the improvement of the State's economy, Roshan said that shop owners are now unable to bear rent and shopkeepers' salary due to depletion in the sale of goods.
He also urged the Government to enforce single line parking system at these areas.
