Imphal, March 01 2016:
Some invigilators of the ongoing Class X examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) have been found providing solved answers to the students at Heirok private centre.
This was stated by DESAM secretary general Nameirakpam Edison while speaking to reporters at their head office today.
He said that as in past years, combined teams of DESAM and AIMS inspected the examination at Heirok, Khongjom, Wangjing and Khangabok private centres today.
During the course of the inspection, many students were found using unfair means at some examination centres, he said.
Edison said that many people were helping the candidates from outside at Heirok centre.
Moreover, some invigilators were found providing copies of solved answers to the students at the centre.
Saying that the teachers distributed hand written carbon and xerox copies of the answers of question numbers 7, 9, 16 and 19 of English subject to students, he said that it was really unfortunate to encourage students using unfair means by teachers.
Cautioning that names of the students who use unfair means and the teachers who help them would be made public through the media if such instances are detected in future, Edison urged the teachers and parents to conduct the examination in a fair manner.
He also requested BOSEM to strictly inspect the examination at Heirok private centre.
On the otherhand, Edison also strongly condemned detention of BOSEM approved student volunteers by the police at Heirok private centre.
AIMS vice-president Rajesh Yumnam was also present at the press conference.
