Imphal, March 01 2016:
Jiribam locals seeking to utilise the speed post facilities at
Jirighat Post Sub-Office, Assam, were turned away by the
Postal Assistant (PA) Rajiv Ranjan who allegedly asked for a
written request from Jiribam Post office, our correspondent
reports.
Speaking to this correspondent, Rajiv Ranjan said,
Jirighat sub-post office is a small office compared to those
at the sub-division.
Because, the post offices at Jiribam
have not introduced speed post facilities, locals from the
area throng the office to avail the services.
This has caused much difficulties, he stated.
The Jirighat
sub-post office being a small office has limited staff and
cannot cater to the need of the large number of people.
Jiribam sub-division Post Master L Nilakumar said the
post offices at Jiribam are awaiting permission from the
Imphal Head Post office for introduction of speed post
services at Jiribam.
