Imphal, January 24 2022:
Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) has appealed to the state government to take up strict precautionary measures to protect students from the fast-spreading Covid-19 pandemic.
In a press release by its HRD secretary, the students' body expressed concern over the onset of the third wave of the pandemic and the detection of 107 positive cases amongst the students of Central University of Agriculture
(CAU) .
As such, it would be appropriate for the government to look into the conduct of physical classes and the operation of boarding/hostels to prevent the spread of the virus.
SUK then urged the authorities concerned to formulate a specific policy for ensuring mass vaccination of students in schools, colleges and universities.
