Imphal, January 24 2022:
Condemning the attack on escorted oil and LPG tankers by bandh supporters near Keithelmanbi along NH-2 on January 21, fuel outlets in the state remained closed on Monday.
It may be mentioned that Manipur Retail Outlet Dealers' Association has demanded adequate compensation for the damaged tankers and injured drivers within January 31.The association contended that the incident occurred due to security lapses and further demanded initiation of a departmental enquiry.
While cautioning of launching intense protest if the government fails to fulfil their demand within the stipulated time, the Association also appealed to authorities concerned for preventing occurrence of such unfortunate incidents in future.
