Imphal, January 24 2022:
Teachers of Dhanamanjuri College of Science, Arts and Commerce resolved to resume PG normal classes following the signing of an MoU between representatives of the teachers' bodies and DMU vice chancellor on Monday.
As per the MoU, teachers of the constituent colleges in departments having Post Graduate (PG) programmes would be recognised as having been in continuous engagement in PG Classes together with all other allied responsibilities since April 6, 2018 and in succession.
The same teachers, unless otherwise opted, should continue to run the new DMU PG Session 2022 or the current in session 3rd semester or both, as the case may be, for the eventual formation of regular DMU PG departments.
It continued that the teachers should be given the first preference of position and post as original teachers in their respective regular PG departments, though under due process and by application of relevant regulations.
The vice chancellor shall invoke the authority of the syndicate (mentioned in Section 21(2) of the Dhanamanjuri University Act, 2017) to contextually effect interpretation of the 'existing teachers' as meaning the working teachers of the constituent colleges (including utilized teachers) within February 5, the MoU added.
Meanwhile, DM College of Arts Teachers' Forum has lauded the initiative of the VC and the registrar for acknowledging the sacrifices of the teachers of DM University since April 6, 2018 and thereafter as original teachers of the university.
It is informed that the classes were suspended since January 18, 2022 .
