Imphal, February 22 2022:
While mentioning that almost all students (15-18 years) of private schools studying in Class IX-XII have been vaccinated and those in Class I-VIII appeared examinations online; All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) has urged the state government to formulate a policy programme for resumption of physical classes, as is being done for students of Class I- VIII in other states.
In a statement, AMRPSWA secretary N Joykumar informed that after commencement of the vaccination drive on February 9, an interaction programme was organised at City Convention Hall on February 11 during which discussions were held on the responsibilities of schools regarding vaccination and maintaining the academic process of schools in urban and rural areas.
The Association observed that online classes cannot provide complete education of students.
Factors such as poverty, network issues and financial instability are huge obstacles, which highlight the importance of physical classes over online classes.
Thus, it urged the authority concerned to look into the matter and approve the resumption of physical academic session, in line with the other states.
