Fitness run, friendly match, security meet held

Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted run for Fit India Movement at Thanlon in Churachandpur district on Wednesday to promote awareness regarding health and hygiene among the students as part of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' commemoration celebrations.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the event was made successful by the participation of 70 students and they were motivated to exercise regularly to stay physically agile and active.
The Battalion also organised a friendly volleyball match under the theme "Fighting Drugs Through Sports" at Aina village in Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
Sports activities promote as an instrument to fight drug ibuse amongst the youths and these events strengthened the mutual understanding between the security forces and the youth, said the PRO in another release, adding that the Youth Club and players expressed their gratitude to the security forces for conducting such fruitful events.
On the other hand, the Battalion organised a security meet with village administration of Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts to build synergy with locals and sensitised them on various measures undertaken by Assam Rifles to maintain peace and tranquillity in the district.
The local populace expressed their willingness to work together with Assam Rifles for a Safe and Secure Manipur, it added.
