Deputy Speaker lays foundation stone for two bailey bridges in Mayang Imphal AC

The foundation stone for two bailey bridges over Imphal River at Mayang Imphal Chirai and Uchiwa Mayai Leirak was laid by the Deputy Speaker, Kongkham Robindro today.
The bailey bridges are to be constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
Speaking on the foundation stone laying ceremony, K Robindro who is also the MLA of Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency said that the AC is surrounded by water of Imphal River, Nambul River and Loktak Lake and stressed on the need of constructing and repairing more roads and bridges for the easy commute of the residents.
Talking about the 9 bridges proposed to be built under PMGSY in Mayang Imphal AC, he said the construction work for bailey bridge over Imphal river at Laphupat Tera Mayai Leikai is going on and today he has laid the foundation stone for two more bridges.

Also the foundation stone for bailey bridge at Uchiwa Hayel will be laid at the earliest, he added.
He continued that the construction of these four bailey bridges is estimated to cost around Rs 4 crore and it is being aimed to complete the construction by March 2022.The MLA further stated that the remaining five bridges at Phoubakchao, Mayang Imphal Maibam, Bengoon, Uchiwa Wangbal and Chirai Awang Leikai will also be constructed in a phase wise manner.
Emphasizing on the condition of roads in Mayang Imphal AC, the MLA maintained that the black topping of major roads including the stretch of road from Sekmaijin till Khodrak, Sekmaijin till Komlakhong, Kenchak Sapam, Uchiwa Haotabi and Mayang Imphal Shantipur will be completed by November.
