Four nurses, one health staff positive

Four nurses of RIMS including one assigned at ICU and one staff of the Health Directorate have been confirmed COVID-19 positive.
According to information received from RIMS, three nurses assigned at Paediatrics Ward and one assigned at ICU have been tested positive for COVID-19 today.
It said that the nurse detailed for duty at ICU might have contracted the virus from a kidney patient who was already tested positive and underwent dialysis in ICU.
Out of the six patients who were undergoing treatment at Derma Nephro Ward and later found positive for COVID-19, two are said to be in critical condition.

Meanwhile, testing of Health Directorate's staff for COVID-19 started today after one of them was infected by the virus.
The testing would continue tomorrow too even as the office of the directorate was disinfected today.
The directorate has also taken serious note of the closure of several hospitals and refusal to admit patients following detection of COVID-19 cases in these hospitals.
One staff of the COVID-19 Common Control Room opened at the Chief Minister's Secretariat who was tested positive for COVID-19 was found negative today after RT-PCR test.
Yet, the individual would not be sent home.
He would be confined at a paid quarantine centre and re-tested, informed a source.
However, the other staff of National Health Mission who was found to be COVID-19 positive after he visited Senapati was tested again today and the result said he is still positive.
Meanwhile, taking serious note of the congestion witnessed at the rapid antigen test centre of RD Wing Lamphelpat, the Health Directorate issued a notification today asking all suspected individuals to be tested at their respective districts.
Three other people were found COVID-19 positive today after rapid antigen test at Thoubal.
Two of them are residents of Thoubal while the third one is a resident of Lilong.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 51 people were tested positive at RIMS, JNIMS and Thoubal district hospital during the last 24 hours.
Seven of them belong to Imphal West, two to Churachandpur, nine to Imphal East, 19 to Thoubal and 14 to Kangpokpi.
18 from Thoubal, four from Imphal East, one from Churachandpur and one from Imphal West have no history of travelling outside the State, the rest are returnees from other parts of the country.
On the other hand, 38 COVID-19 patients have been discharged during the last 24 hours after recovery.
Eight of them were treated at JNIMS, 15 at CCC Meitram, two at CCC Ukhrul, three each at CCC Senapati, CCC Thoubal, CCC Kamjong and four at RD Wing.
More than 220 people including staff of the Chief Minister's Secretariat, security staff and COVID-19 Common Control were tested today and all of them were found to be negative.
As of Monday, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the State is 2286 including 727 active cases and 1559 recovered cases.
The recovery rate is 68.19 per cent.
Following detection of positive cases, certain areas of Thangmeiband Mujikhul, Lalambung, Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi, Lamphelpat, Thoubal Bazar and the perimeter of Hotel Tampha, North AOC have been declared as containment zones.
