While making it clear that he would not contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, BJP State unit president Th Chaoba hinted that Prof Gangmumei Kamei may represent the party and fight the Lok Sabha election in Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and Dr RK Ranjan in Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
Speaking to media persons at their office this afternoon, Chaoba said that he would not contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha election likely to be held next year even though BJP has not officially named any candidate till date.
He said that his decision was guided by his intention to promote young and new faces in electoral politics.
Prof Gangmumei Kamei intends to contest the Lok Sabha election in Outer constituency and Dr RK Ranjan in Inner constituency, Chaoba said.
The food security scheme brought out by Congress party is purely vote oriented and authorities would not be able to implement the same scheme in Manipur, Chaoba asserted.
Alleging that Public Distribution System has failed miserably in Manipur, Chaoba said that in addition to the two categories of BPL and APL, there is another category called MLA quota.
The Government is unable to select beneficiaries for the food security scheme and it would never succeed in shipping necessary quantities of rice for implementing the scheme, Chaoba said in a challenging tone.
