Aimol body asserts stand

Aimol Tribe Union Manipur (ATUM) has asserted that it will oppose forceful inclusion of Aimol tribe into Naga fold by NSCN (IM) .
Speaking at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, ATUM president RT Akhel claimed that former president S Munthoireng had already been expelled from the union.
The union took the decision of expelling him on June 23, 2015 after he made an announcement that Aimol tribe have joined the Naga fold on April 13, 2015, he said.
The president also urged the media not to publish any statement issued by Munthoireng and two other expelled members namely Kh Neikhup and R Sialo.
NSCN (IM) must not include Aimol into the Naga fold by creating unwanted disputes at Pallel area, he said.
He said that Aimol is Chin-Kuki-Mizo group which has its own custom, culture, tradition, language and history.
Alleging that NSCN (IM) had carried out many killings at Pallel area, RT Akhel condemned the killing of Hindi teacher Ts Thongogin Haokip.
