The body of a non Manipuri man who was gunned down by unidentified gunmen at Ningthoukhong Ward No III under Bishnupur PS last night at around 8.40 was handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS today, said sources.
The victim has been identified as Ganesh Prasad (35) s/o Ramdas Prasad of Bihar.
Ganesh is reported to be running a grocery shop at Ningthoukhong Bazar by staying in a rented room in the area.
Sources said that Ganesh was abducted by unidentified gunmen from his rented room last night and later shot dead at Ningthoukhong Ward No III.
Ganesh who received bullet wounds on the chest is survived by his wife and three children.
Meanwhile, an unidentified body was found in front of the Chingmeirong Police outpost yesterday evening at around 6.20.The unidentified body with dark complexion is suspected to be about 35 years and about 5ft and 3 inch tall.
The man is clad in track suit and a faded T Shirt.
The body has been deposited at RIMS.
According to another report, another unidentified body was found at Saikul bus stand yesterday evening at around 3.40.The unidentified man is suspected to be about 46 years.
The body has been deposited at RIMS morgue.
KNF men held with arms: Troops of 41 BSF arrested two KNF (Zougam) cadres along with arms and money yesterday at about 10.55 pm from Tuibong under CCpur police station.
The two arrested persons have been identified as Yangthinthang Haokip (18) of Teisong village, CCpur and Seineh Haokip (21) of Tuibong, said police sources.
The troops recovered one US Carbine with one magazine and twenty bullets and Rs 1,100 in cash.
