Driver, handyman rescued

Imphal, December 22, 2013:
A driver and a handyman of a truck who were abducted by some unidentified persons along with a truck from Bongbal area of Churachandpur district have been rescued by Imphal East District Police.
Moreover, three persons involved in the abduction have been apprehended.
Notably, the hijacked truck was recovered some time back.
Truck driver Karam Dara (40) of Irilbung and his assistant Soram Open of Chingarel were rescued by police from the hands of their abductors from Khurai Salanthong under Porompat police station, Imphal East district at around 7.30 am today.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Lunminthang alias Min Kipgen (25) s/o Lulun of Bongbal village, Seikothang Kipgen (53) s/o late Lunkhulet of Tuibong and Seiboi alias Seikholet Vaiphei (34) s/o Thangkhokam of Khenjang village.
A Maruti Eco van used by them has also been seized, informed a source.
Dara and Open were abducted by unidentified persons from Bongbal area at around 7.30 am of December 15.The truck driven by them which was hijacked by the unidentified persons was recovered by police earlier.
