Kuki Inpi, Saikul Gamkai (KISG) and Kuki Students Organisation-Saikul Area (KSO) staged sit-in-protest at Ekou Bazar demanding immediate release of two labourers, who have been reportedly abducted from Saikul area of Sadar Hills, Senapati district by suspected Kuki militants.
Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai (KOSG) and Kuki Student Organisation (KSO) Saikul said they are very much concerned about the abduction of Sanasam Tomba (44) and Amon Doren (36) from a work site near Twichamphai village, Saikul Block on December 10 by suspected Kuki militants who are signatories Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact.
The two abducted labourers were engaged for the construction of Ekou-Saparmaina road.
"The abduction of innocent labourers just for money or ransom is against humanitarian laws.
Any kind of misunderstanding or confusion can be sorted out through talks and negotiations.
Kidnappings, abductions or violent activities will never bring solution to any problems," the Kuki bodies said.
KISG and KSO said it is also a matter of serious concern that disruptions have been created on the developmental works in Saikul assembly constituency due to frequent kidnappings and abductions.
Development works are for the people.
The disruption of the developmental works is against the wish and welfare of the people.
The KISG and KSO, therefore made fervent a appeal to the group responsible for the early release of the abducted labourers on humanitarian ground and in the interest of development, progress and in Saikul Sub-Division.
