Teachers of Thambaljao High School (aided) have alleged that founder of the school, ex-MLA N Nodiachand has misappropriated Rs 3,42, 811 sanctioned by the Government for payment of salaries and arrears of the teaching staff as well as nutritional material meant for the school children.
The teachers today lodged a complaint on the matter with the Superintendent of Police, Imphal West to take up necessary legal action against the said former legislator, informed one M Pishak Singh, assistant teacher of the school located at Uripok.
Nodiachand, resident of Uripok Yambem Leikai embezzled the amount during the last many years by taking undue advantage of being the school founder.
Expounding the charges levelled against the former MLA, the teacher said Nodiachand misused 100 bags of rice procured under the mid-day meal scheme of school children for one whole year from April 2000.He also forfeited salaries of a Hindi teacher for seven months from April 26, 1999 amounting to Rs 41,952.M Pishak�s salary for 26 months effective from September 1998 amounting to Rs 26,000 had also been embezzled by Nodiachand without assigning any reason, he charged.
In collusion with his (Nodiachand) younger sister namely Manitombi Devi, currently serving as an assistant teacher in the same school, he also forfeited Rs 38,227 meant for refunding to the unapproved teachers.
Besides forfeiting the arrears of the approved teachers amounting to a total of Rs 1,33,899 the ex-MLA also collected a huge sum of money from the teachers through his wife - Rajdhoni Devi - under the pretext of regularizing services of the unapproved teachers.
