Protest demonstrations were staged today at different places by womenfolk of the area decrying the yesterday afternoon's grenade attack by unidentified persons at the Kha-Naorem Leikai (MU Gate No.1) residence of Moirangthem Lokendro, who is an SE in PWD as well as demanding safe release of Heikrujam Ibotomba of Singjamei Oinam Thingel whose whereabouts has not been known since October 26 after being abducted by un identified gunmen.
The protest session held at Kh-Naorem Leikai strongly condemned the grenade attack at the resident of Lokendra and causing fear psychosis among the people of the locality.
Women protestors numbering around 100 of them who participated in the protest session held from 10 am to 4.30 pm also appealed to all concerned to ensure such incident do not recur in future.
On the other hand, a Wakat Meepham was held at Singjamei Parking today demanding safe release of Heikrujam Ibotomba whose whereabouts has not been since October 26.Ibotomba has been reportedly abducted by unidentified persons.
The protest demonstration held under the aegis of JAC on Missing of H Ibotomba Singh, Singjamei Mayangbam Leikai formed jointly by 14 different clubs of Singjamei area.
Talking to mediapersons on the sideline of the protest demonstration, JAC convenor Oinam Nandakishore said Ibotomba is innocent family man.
If any of the armed outfits are keeping him in their custody, he should be released immediately in the interest of his worried family members.
The convenor also decried the alleged indifferent attitude of the Government inspite of having submitted memorandum in this regard.
The convenor informed that the JAC would continue to launch agitation until the whereabouts of the missing man has been known and the State Government should bear the responsibility for any untoward incident in this regard.
Meanwhile, secretary of Youth Welfare Organisation, Singjamei Thokchom Leikai RK Kheroda Singh in a statement has appealed to safe release of Ibotomba on humanitarian ground and urged the Govt for assistance in finding out the whereabouts of the missing man.
