2455 houses on target under housing scheme

The State Government has set a target of building 2455 houses for beneficiaries who would be selected for the Government's housing scheme.
This was stated by Chief Minister O Ibobi who is also in charge of MOBC in response to a question put up by ruling MLA Dr Ng Bijoy during question hour in the State Assembly today.
However, the beneficiaries of the scheme have not been selected as yet.
Once the process is initiated, beneficiaries would be selected from all the Assembly segments.
Out of the total number of beneficiaries, 1050 would be selected from among OBC and 1405 from other minorities, Ibobi stated.
Replying to a query raised by MLA M Kunjo, Industries Minister K Govindas informed the House that efforts were on to open a pottery production cum training centre at Thongjao.
Once due approval of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Mumbai is obtained, local potters would be trained on modern technologies of pottery, Govindas said.
It is being targeted to complete the development work of Takmu Water Sports Complex by December 2013, stated O Ibobi in response to a query put up by MLA Prithiviraj.
Construction work of the right main canal of Thoubal Barrage would be completed and people may reap its benefits by March, 2014, claimed IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip in his reply to a question raised by Th Shyamkumar.
Following Cabinet approval and publication in the State gazette, the Manipur State Youth Policy 2011 has been already implemented, stated Ibobi who is also holding the portfolio of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Answering a question raised by Dr I Ibohalbi, Ibobi maintained that there is no harm in amending the policy from time to time.
Retirement age of employees working under the State Government and the Central Government is the same.
Like the Centre, the State Government has made arrangements so that retired employees can enjoy pension benefits without much time gap.
