DyCM asks party workers to befriend people

Reminding that without the people's support survival of political organisations would be at stake, Deputy chief Minister Gaikhangam has called upon Congress leaders and workers to strive for promoting healthy relationships between the party and the common public for longevity and progress of the Congress organisation.
Taking a dig at other political organisations functional in the State, Gaikhangam said leaders of opposition parties waking up from a deep slumber and clamouring for the people's support remind one and all that election time has arrived.
Opining that activities of opposition parties tend to cease and tongue lashings against the Congress will diminish once the upcoming Parliamentary election is over as if expertise in vocabulary is meant for specific period/session, he claimed that irrespective of being the ruling party the Congress organisation always remain focus on developing healthy relationship with the people.

Speaking as the chief guest at the Youth Enrolment Programme organised by the Keishamthong Block Congress Committee at Keishampat community hall today, the DyCM called upon the Youth Congress activists to constantly update the senior leaders and party functionaries about the aspiration of the people and issues confronting the masses.
Pointing out that among other flagship development programmes implementation of the National Food Security Act and Right to information Act testify determination and commitment of the Congress Government to mitigate socio-economic problems besetting the common people, Gaikhangam suggested that Youth Congress volunteers closely monitor implementation of the flagship programmes so that the noble schemes benefit the people.
MPCC general secretary (Youth) MLA Victor Keishing, former Minister L Jayentakumar Singh and Keishamthong Block Congress Committee president Salam Ibochou Singh also addressed the gathering.
