L.Tarun of the winning team Nambul Mapal PC-A contributed 3 goals, first goal in the second chukker and 2 others in the 4th chukker.
Team mate O.Paikhomba added 1 goal in the sixth chukker to seal the fate of the match.
Earlier, speaking during the inaugural ceremony of the tournament, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam harped on the need for preserving and protecting Manipuri ponies (small horses) and said that in case the ponies get extinct then Manipur's pride of being the origin of Polo game will no longer be that significant.
"We see horses straying in the open and in the roadsides with no one caring about them," he pointed adding that horses and the Manipur heritage have been inter-twined for generations.
"Manipur has been in the world culture map, thanks to many factors.
Polo is one of these factors," stated Gaikhangam, and went on to say that forefathers of Manipur introduced the Polo game to the British people and the latter in turn after certain changes in rules introduced the game to the world.
The deputy chief minister then advocated for the need to categorise Polo-Ground in the heart of Imphal as a heritage site.
