Kakching, August 12 2021:
Stating that the farmers of Chandel district do not have access to fertilisers, Chandel Naga People's Organisations (CNPO) has appealed to the state government to provide adequate quantity of fertilisers to farmers of'the district.
In a statement, CNPO noted that on July 4, agriculture minister Oinam Lukhoi said that there was enough stock of urea fertilisers to be disced to all the farmers in the state.
He also assured that there would be no shortage of urea for the kharif season.
But over 1000 farmers in Chandel district have not seen the fertiliser at all.
This kind of inconveniences caused to the farmers by the state government will only act against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of doubling farmers' income by 2022, it remarked.
CNPO further urged the authorities concerned to look into the issue as early as possible.
