Training programme concludes at Makhuam

The 2-days training programme on "Climate change, hill areas development and landslides management" organised by the Department of Relief & Disaster Management concluded today at Makhuam (Marangching) Part-3, Haolaijang, Noney district.
It was attended by AK Ranjit Kumar Singh, Documentation cum Research Officer, Relief & Disaster Management, Government of Manipur; Lankhuilung Kamei, chairman Thoupei, Makhuam village; and Gaishinglung Gondaimei, associate pastor Makhuam Part-3, Baptist Church as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, AK Ranjit Kumar Singh stated that the training programme was conducted to spread awareness on Geo Climatic Condition Hazards such as landslides and floods.
He also mentioned that a survey on Geo Climatic Condition and Land Management Mapping will be carried out soon by the department concerned in coordination with the locals.
The training officials included O Achouba Singh, Sub-Team Commander, SDRF; N Paraneshwori Devi, Responder, SDRF; and O Bedam Chanu, Responder, SDRF.
Hands-on training on how to manage and tackle during the occurrence of natural calamities such as landslides, earthquake, wildfire, drought, etc were given to the participants.
Demonstrations on controlling wildfire, management of landslides, earthquake, first aid and CPR were also displayed.
