Charhajare: Saitu AC's first My vaccinated village

After an extensive vaccination drive held at Charhajare under the initiative of the local MLA, Ngamthang Haokip, the village was today declared as the first fully vaccinated village in Saitu Assembly Constituency.
According to a press release signed by Dr N Johnson Meetei, Sub Divisional Officer, Saitu Gamphazol; Dr Jamlal Haokip, Sr MO, PHC Gamphazol and representatives of the local MLA, Navin Gorkha Youth Club, Ngamthang Youth Team 51-Saitu (ST) AC, COVID Task Force Charhajare and BJP Saitu Mandal, extensive vaccination was held on July 20 and 21 at Community Hall, Bishnulal High School, Charhajare under the supervision of Covid Awareness and Enforcement Committee 51-Saitu (ST) AC .
It also stated that the vaccination drive was conducted by a team of Saitu Gamphazol PHC led by Dr Jamlal Haokip.
The volunteers of Navin Gorkha Youth Club, Ngamthang Youth Team 51-Saitu AC, and BJP Saitu Mandal also took an active part in the identification of villagers under Charhajare village.
The staff under SDO Saitu Gamphazol along with booth level officer, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers participated in ensuring full vaccination of the villagers.
After all the villagers included in the electoral roll were vaccinated, house-to-house visits to identify villagers who were yet to receive their jabs was also conducted by the volunteers of Navin Gorkha Youth Club on July 22 and the left out villagers were vaccinated by the medical team, it added.
It further said that after thoroughly checking for any left out villagers staying currently at Charhajare village, it was found that all the villagers who were eligible for vaccination as per current criteria have been fully vaccinated and Charhajare village was declared as the first COVID-19 fully vaccinated village of 51-Saitu (ST) Assembly Constituency on July 22 .
