Imphal, July 23 2021:
Welcoming the demand for clubbing the eight assembly segments of the valley districts in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency from its present inclusion in the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency raised by Rajya Sabh MP titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba in Rajya Sabha recently, Wangjing-Tentha MLA P Brojen urged the MPs of the state and the Central government to grant the right to contest election as reserved candidate in the reserved Outer seat in case the proposed rejigging could not be worked out.
In a video message to the public, MLA Brojen on Friday said that he and people of the eight assembly segments are elated that the titular king has raised the demand in the parliament.
However, the actual demand raised by the people of the areas is to allow them to contest the election in Outer parliamentary constituency as reserved candidate instead of shifting them into Inner Parliamentary constituency, he said, while drawing attention of the three MPs of the state to bring up the demand as well.
