MoA signed for conservation of forest

Imphal, April 08 2022:
A memorandum of agreement (MoA) has been signed between divisional forest officer (Central) RK Amarjit Singh on behalf of the Forest Department, and Taorem Village Authority (TVA) and Resource Mobilisation Centre, Safe Environment Campaign Committee (SECC), Heingang at DFO (Central) office, Mantripukhri on April 4 for strengthening conservation of forest and natural Resources in and around Taorem village.
In a release, SECC chairman Mutum Inaobi Singh informed that the MoA was signed among the three entities in connection with the construction of a 'Water Filtration Plant' at Taorem village with financial assistance of ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, Mumbai under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
DFO (Central) proposed the project for construction of a 'Water Filtration Plant' at the village to ICICI Foundation in November 2021 .
Accordingly, the Foundation after signing an MoU with conservator of forests (Central) on November 30,2021 sanctioned the project, it added.
SECC mentioned that the project aims to provide safe drinking water to at least 50 households in the nearby villages using natural springs located in the area.
The construction of the plant is in the final stages and will start supplying clean water to the villagers within this month.
The MoA was signed by SECC chairman M Inaobi Singh, TVA secretary W Indrajit Singh on behalf of Resource Mobilisation Centre, SECC and TVA respectively, with assistant conservator of forest (Central) Siba Veimy and TVA executive member M Inaoton Singh and SECC executive member Y Manimohon Singh being the witnesses, it conveyed.
