Imphal, April 08 2022:
CPI-M Manipur State secretary Kshetrimayum Shanta has underscored the need for putting a tab on the activities of BJP, which is driven by the ideologies of RSS.
He is attending the 23rd conference of CPI-M, which began from April 6 at Kannur in Kerala.
Kerala is hosting the conference for the fifth time and it will continue till April 10.The party's state secretariat member Sarat Salam is also participating in the conference that has representatives from Canada, UK and Arabian countries as well.
Speaking at the event, Shanta maintained that the party should check the activities of BJP and how it won election by working on the ideologies of RSS.
He also expressed concern that BJP might use undemocratic and unconstitutional acts to win all future elections.
Earlier on April 6, while inaugurating the conference, CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury produced the party's draft political report and said that a national level political front will be formed after the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
At the same time, he underscored the importance of pre-poll alliance in order to win election and form government.
Since 1977, all the national level fronts are formed post poll.
One can look back and review the situation in 1989, 1996, 1998 and 2004 in order to have a clear path for the future, Yechury stressed.
Referring to the activities of the BJP government at the Centre, Yechury said that all pillars of Constitution, secular democracy, federalism, social justice and economic sovereignty are "under assault" .
To achieve the Hindutva agenda of the RSS, the ruling BJP is under mining every independent organisation in the country, he alleged and asserted that it is essential that the BJP is kept isolated to protect the people and safeguard the secular interest of the country.
